THJ Storybook Parade!

On Friday, October 29th, THJ Elementary will have a storybook character parade beginning at 8:15 am in the front driveway of the school.

The students will sit on the curb/sidewalk and “parade” through the front drive of the school.  Parents may bring lawn chairs and sit on the grass to watch the parade.

Please DO NOT park in the front since we will need that area for the parade.  You may park in the staff parking lot or on THJ Drive for this day.

We will begin at 8:15 am. Since visitors will be outside, you will not have to sign in to the office. However, please understand that for the safety of all children, students must stay with their teacher at all times during the parade.

How to participate: Choose a character from a book.  Your child will need to come to school dressed as a character from that book. Your child will also need to bring the storybook the character comes from.

**Please send a change of clothes in your child’s backpack just in case! It is also Taylor Duck Day for Red Ribbon Week!

This activity is intended to develop an interest in reading.  Please help make this an enjoyable experience for your child.  This is not a “Halloween” celebration, so please do not let your child wear a scary costume or bring any inappropriate accessories.
